WINTER SOLSTICE - 21ST DECEMBER

A TIME FOR CLEANSING AND RENEWAL

And also shared warmth and huddling !

Shortest Day - Longest Night

In the Northern Hemisphere this is the shortest day of the year as the Sun is lowest in the sky. It is celebrated by most religions and countries in some way or other. To many it is the beginning of the winter period and thus a time for cleansing and renewal.

Traditionally, and in the oldest religions, it is a time for sharing warmth, huddling together and imbibing nectars that will lift your spirits!

As it is the shortest day then so it is the longest night. Proof positive that these celebrations are so successful in the fact that more babies are born nine months after the Winter Solstice, in the Northern Hemisphere, than at any other time of the year!

It is a time for bringing gifts to your family, neighbours and lovers. There is no better addition to this ceremony than giving those you care about a Love2Donate voucher.
